vMix 2011 Beta 5 Full Description

vMix is a new Software Video Mixer and Switcher that utilises the latest advances in computer hardware to provide live hd video mixing, a task previously only possible on expensive dedicated hardware mixers. vMix runs on the Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 platforms.

Features include LIVE mixing and switching of SD and HD (up to 1080p) video sources including cameras, video files, DVDs, images and much much more.

Supported Hardware

Due to the many different possible computer system configurations, the following should be viewed as a guide only.

Minimum System Requirements

  • Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 based system
  • 2Ghz Dual-Core Processor
  • 1GB Memory
  • Direct3D 9 Compatible Video Card. Integrated or Discrete.
  • 1GB Free Disk Space

Recommended System Requirements

The following system supports three live HD sources output to a secondary screen while recording at 1080p 30fps

    Blackmagic-Design Intensity Shuttle

  • DV/HDV
    DV and HDV sources are supported through FireWire. (Separate FireWire card required for each camera)
    These sources introduce a delay of half a second.
